WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers released a statement in response to the President’s State of the Union address:

“Free global trade is critical to the United States realizing the widespread economic benefits of being home to the most efficient, high-tech and competitive refining and petrochemical industries in the world. Fuels and petrochemicals are in-demand across the globe and U.S. companies and workers are better positioned than anyone to supply them, so long as trade policies allow market access.”

“Our nation’s infrastructure — including pipelines, ports, railroads, roadways and export terminals — deliver the fuels and petrochemicals on which consumers, businesses and trading partners rely, day in and day out. U.S. fuel and petrochemical manufacturers are prepared to invest billions in upgrading and expanding U.S. midstream infrastructure, and AFPM supports measures to improve regulatory certainty and permitting efficiency that will ultimately strengthen domestic supply chains.”
