WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chet Thompson, President and CEO of the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers, issued the following statement regarding the EPA’s July 5 proposal of new RVOs for 2020 and 2021 under the Renewable Fuel Standard:

“Yet again EPA is proposing to set biofuel mandates at levels that simply don’t reflect market demand and infrastructure constraints. We look forward to commenting on this proposal to adjust these requirements to more realistic and sensible levels. Currently, marginal compliance comes from imported, expensive biodiesel - simply put, these high mandates won’t help American farmers and will just cost drivers more at the pump.”
