WASHINGTON, D.C. — American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President and CEO Chet Thompson issued the following statement today on EPA’s release of a proposed rule to expand the 2026-2027 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) by tacking on additional obligations from 2025 via “reallocation:”
“The RFS is already the Trump administration’s most expensive regulation, by far — adding between 30-40 cents to the cost of every gallon of gasoline and diesel supplied to the U.S. market. EPA's proposed ‘reallocation’ is unlawful and would only make fuel more expensive for U.S. consumers. The existing mandates are already the highest ever; enough is enough.”
