WASHINGTON D.C. – The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) today released the following statement in response to the U.S. Senate procedural vote on the Green New Deal resolution:

“U.S. fuel and petrochemical manufacturers strongly disagree with the premise that our products won’t be needed in the future. The Green New Deal is out of touch with the immense value that fuel and petrochemicals add to the world each day — from affordable fuel that gets our kids to school and us to work, to diesel powering agriculture and shipping, to the ethylene used in renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and solar panels. This resolution also ignores the fact that fuel and petrochemical makers are innovating to offer increasingly cleaner products and new technologies to enhance environmental performance.”
