WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President and CEO Chet Thompson issued the following statement on EPA’s recission of federal tailpipe emissions standards covering model years 2027-2032:

“We applaud EPA for reversing the prior administration’s unlawful ban on most new internal combustion engine vehicles and for returning the choice of ‘what to drive’ back to consumers. We support ambitious tailpipe and fuel economy standards, but the standards must be lawful, feasible, and protect the affordability of cars and trucks for Americans.”
