Last year, Congress stopped California from banning sales of new gas cars and imposing electric heavy-truck mandates. It took bipartisan majorities in the House and Senate voting together to rescind the EPA rules authorizing those California mandates.
We need Congress to stand up again this year and get rid of a few more EPA rules authorizing other California electrification mandates aimed at passenger cars and trucks, ships, ports and small off-road engines like lawnmowers and generators. These California regulations have national impacts, raising costs for consumers and manufacturers around the country, restricting vehicle choice and even undercutting U.S. energy security.
The clock is ticking. Americans don’t want the costs and consequences of California regulations impacting their lives, so Congress needs to act and pass the six Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions that will stop California’s regulations from being enforced.
