WASHINGTON, D.C. – Statement from Chet Thompson, President and CEO of American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) in response to a petition sent by Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania highlighting the costs of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and requesting relief from President Trump.
“The RFS continues to threaten good-paying manufacturing jobs and increase costs for American families. We applaud Governor Wolf for standing up for the hard-working men and women in Pennsylvania and seeking RFS relief from President Trump. As we pointed out in our own comments, the EPA has the authority to lower mandates to avoid severe economic harm. We hope the Administration takes prompt action on the comments it has received in a transparent way that considers the best interests of consumers, workers, and the country as a whole.”
