CA Consumers, Environment Not Served by Restricting Access to Global Energy

Limiting California’s access to the exact types of crude oil its facilities need will only increase prices for the state’s consumers and travelers. Drivers are already dealing with gasoline prices in excess of $5 per gallon and the highest fuel taxes of the 50 states. Confining energy producers and consumers to a smaller pool of crude oil will make a very sensitive price environment that much worse.

The two most controversial and potentially useful aspects of applied AI reside in Generative AI and Reinforcement Learning. Generative AI has applications in technical training, procedures and guided application development. Reinforcement Learning has applications in nonlinear closed loop optimization. Both areas will be of interest to refinery engineers and managers. This session is an extension of AI 101 which presented a broader view of the areas of application for AI.
