AFPM: SCOTUS rules American fuel makers can challenge EV mandates

WASHINGTON, D.C. — American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President and CEO Chet Thompson today issued the following statement on the 7-2 decision by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) determining refiners have standing to challenge California’s electric vehicle (EV) mandates.

Canadian Refiner replaced the Shake Test with on-line UOP Mercaptide Sensors to monitor the extent of Merox caustic regeneration. Mercaptide Sensor use resulted in continuously trended data, reduced caustic exposure, and proactive process variable optimization, while vastly reducing off specification incidences and unnecessary bulk caustic replacements.

Coalition of energy, ag, biofuels petitions SCOTUS challenging EPA waiver authorizing California EV mandate

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, a coalition of 15 energy, agriculture and biofuel groups filed a petition for a writ of certiorari (cert petition) with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) challenging EPA’s decision to grant a waiver to the state of California for its 2021-2025 electric vehicle mandate, a policy governing the vehicle choice of nearly 40% of Americans directly and many more indirectly.
