An extensive system of coastal and inland ports and waterways facilitates the safe, efficient transport of American fuels and petrochemicals and connects U.S. refining and petrochemical industries to global markets. It is important that we protect and invest in these ports and waterways.
AFPM supports policies that promote navigable waters, foster investment in water resources and improve the fuel and petrochemical industries’ ability to ship products globally. This includes, but is not limited to, deepening ports and waterways to allow for larger vessels, ensuring there is adequate funding in place for infrastructure maintenance and expansion and coordinating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on permitting infrastructure projects.
