AFPM applauds EPA decision making way for more streamlined Louisiana carbon capture projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. – American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) today issued the following statement from Leslie Bellas, AFPM vice present of regulatory affairs, commending the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to grant Louisiana primary enforcement responsibility (primacy) for the permitting and regulation of Class VI injection wells in the state. EPA’s decision makes Louisiana the third state, after North Dakota and Wyoming, where carbon capture projects have a streamlined permit approval process that allows for safe and efficient implementation.

Ahead of CARS Act vote, national survey finds majority oppose EPA tailpipe proposal

Washington, D.C., December 4, 2023 – Today, ahead of the House of Representatives’ consideration of H.R. 4468, the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act (CARS Act), the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) released the results of a national survey fielded among n=1,089 likely general election voters. The data show Americans strongly oppose EPA’s vehicle tailpipe emissions proposal for model years 2027-2032 and are less likely to vote for candidates who support banning sales of gas-fueled vehicles.
